Doorways to Sacred Travel

This is a typical street in Mykonos, a beautiful island village off the coast of Greece. Other than a church or two, there are not many sacred sites on the island, but its what you experience here that could be sacred. Just imagining what's behind these doors or beyond this pathway can peak your curiosity of finding more than just an island paradise. If we take a closer look, I'm sure there's stories here of inspiration, courage, faith and ....





Besides the beaches and nightlife, the various classical ruins and ancient sites are closely associated to the history of Mykonos, which is based on mythology.

Refuge Seekers

Not far from the capital of Mykonos at the village of Ano Mera stands the beautiful monastery of Panagia Tourliani, known for its remarkable architecture and rare icons.

The monastery was founded in 1542 by fugitive monks of the Monastery of Katapoliani of Paros who sought asylum on the island of Mykonos.
